Competition Plates That Hold Their Line
PRx Elite Competition Bumper Plates are built to IWF-standard proportions: a true 450mm (17.75") diameter with a narrow profile that lets you fit more weight on the bar. Solid rubber over a steel disc insert gives them a firm, predictable landing every time.
These are the plates for lifters who train the competition lifts and want the bar to behave the same in the garage as it does on the platform. Choose your weight from 25 lb to 55 lb; plates are sold in pairs.
Key Features
A full steel disc with a 50.4mm collar opening locks the plate to the sleeve with no wobble.
A harder compound than standard bumpers, which means noticeably less bounce on the drop.
Thin plates free up sleeve length so you can load heavier before running out of room.
Rims reduce plate-on-plate friction, extending the life of the faces and the branding.
Competition-standard height puts the bar exactly where you expect it on every pull.
25, 35, 45 and 55 lb pairs let you build a platform-ready set.
Description
The difference between a competition plate and a training bumper comes down to two things: how tightly it fits the sleeve and how far it bounces. Elite Competition plates address both. The steel disc insert is machined to a 50.4mm collar opening, tighter than the 50.6mm found on standard bumpers, so the plate sits flush against the sleeve rather than rattling against it during cleans and snatches.
The rubber runs 90-92 on the durometer scale, which is hard by bumper plate standards. Harder rubber means the plate absorbs the drop and stays put instead of kicking the bar back at you. Anyone who has chased a bouncing bar across a garage will understand why that is worth paying for.
The narrow profile is the other real advantage. A 45 lb Elite plate is 52mm thick against the 3.18" of a standard Prime plate, so a loaded bar holds far more weight before the sleeve runs out. Raised rims on each face keep plates from grinding against each other, which is what keeps the surface looking new after a few hundred sessions.
Sold in pairs by weight. Pair them with a wall-mounted plate storage system to keep the platform clear between sessions.
