Duke's goal was to replicate the exact sound, feel, and physiological benefit of rowing on open water — and to build a rowing machine beautiful enough to belong in a living room, not just a gym. Every WaterRower still ships from that same Rhode Island workshop today.
At the heart of every WaterRower rowing machine is the patented WaterFlywheel: a paddle spinning in a sealed water tank that generates resistance proportional to effort, delivering the same natural catch, drive, and release you'd feel on the water.
