The cradle is steel, finished in black, and measures 4" x 12" x 12.5" (H x W x D) with an 8.875" inner diameter. That opening is the number to check before ordering. Medicine and slam balls vary quite a bit between manufacturers, and PRx notes that they cannot guarantee every ball on the market will fit, so measure yours if it is an unusual size.
Beyond the gym, this is a genuinely useful garage organizer. Basketballs, soccer balls and anything else round and homeless get the same treatment. Medicine ball is not included; all mounting hardware is.
