The OB86EXT is Body-Solid's needle-bearing Olympic bar, built to match its OBPX Chicago Extreme Bumper Plates. A 28.75mm black zinc shaft is paired with hardened chrome sleeves that spin on four needle bearings per side, giving the fast, low-friction rotation that Olympic lifts like the clean and jerk or snatch rely on, rather than the slower spin of a bushing-based bar.
Dual knurling on both sides of the shaft with no center knurl keeps the bar comfortable across the back and chest for cleans, jerks and presses. At 20kg (44 lb.) with a 205,000 PSI tensile strength and a 1,500 lb. weight capacity, the shaft is rated well past what most lifters will load on it, and Body-Solid backs the bar with a 1-year commercial warranty for both commercial and residential use.
