Stainless Through and Through

The PRx Stainless Thresher Bar is stainless steel from shaft to sleeves, not just where the marketing photo shows. That means bare-steel knurl feel with no coating between your hands and the bar, and a finish that shrugs off garage humidity, chalk and sweat for years.

Underneath the finish is a serious general training bar: 20kg, 28.5mm shaft, medium whip, volcano knurl with dual IWF and IPF marks, and a 1,500 lb static load rating. It is the one bar that will handle squats, presses, deadlifts and Olympic work without you ever thinking about it again.

Key Features

Full Stainless Construction
Shaft and sleeves are both stainless steel, so corrosion resistance is not limited to the ends of the bar.
1,500 lb Static Load
You will not outgrow this bar. It is rated far beyond any home gym lift.
190,000 PSI Tensile Strength
Rated at ≥190,000 PSI ± 5%, so the bar returns straight after heavy work.
Volcano Knurling
Medium-aggression volcano pattern grips chalked hands without shredding them on high-rep sets.
Dual IWF and IPF Marks
Both knurl mark standards are on the shaft, so your grip is consistent whichever discipline you train.
Quiet Bushing Spin
Stainless and Derlin bushings spin smooth and stay quiet for early mornings and late nights.
Medium Whip
Enough flex and rebound to help Olympic lifts without unsettling a heavy squat or press.
16-1/8" Usable Sleeves
Room for a full load of bumpers or iron on an 86.5" bar that fits any standard rack.

Description

Coatings are a compromise. Zinc dulls, black oxide needs oiling, and even good chrome puts a layer between your hands and the knurl. Stainless steel removes the compromise: the surface you grip is the material the bar is made from, so the knurl feels the same on day one and year five, and rust is not part of the conversation.

PRx made the whole bar stainless rather than only the sleeves, which is the more expensive way to do it and the reason this bar reads as an upgrade rather than a cosmetic option. The shaft measures 28.5mm, a good middle ground that is thin enough for cleans and snatches and thick enough to feel solid under a heavy squat.

The knurl is a medium-aggression volcano pattern, arguably the best all-round choice for a general training bar. It bites reliably with chalk, holds a deadlift at the top of a heavy set, and does not tear callouses on a set of twenty. Both IWF and IPF marks are cut into the shaft, so whether you are pressing to the powerlifting rings or snatching to the weightlifting ones, the reference is there.

Composite bushings keep the sleeves turning smoothly and quietly. If your gym shares a wall with a bedroom, that matters more than any spec sheet suggests. Fitness Supply recommends the Stainless Thresher as the buy-once bar for a home gym you plan to keep.

A Note on Whip

Whip is the flex and rebound of a barbell shaft under load. As the weight moves, the bar bends and then snaps back, and lifters use that rebound to generate momentum in Olympic lifts. The right amount of whip makes for smoother, more explosive lifts; too little or too much throws off timing and control. The Stainless Thresher sits at medium, which suits mixed training better than a dedicated power or Olympic bar.
